William Blinn Bates, Jr. is a partner at Woods & Bates. Upon graduation from law school in 2007, Mr. Bates returned to his hometown of Lincoln and commenced his practice of law. His practice in Lincoln is concentrated in estate planning, including drafting of trusts and wills, administration of decedents' estates, real estate, and collection matters. Mr. Bates also represents the local hospital in Lincoln, Illinois, as well as a Lincoln-based privately-owned oil company operating throughout Illinois. Mr. Bates also serves as Municipal Attorney for the City of Lincoln, City of Atlanta, Village of New Holland, and Village of Hartsburg.
Mr. Bates received his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School with honors in 2007. Mr. Bates is a member of the Illinois and Logan County Bar Associations and is a past President of the Logan County Bar Association. He is active in local civic, charity, and educational affairs, and currently serves on the District #27 School Board, Young Professionals Network of Logan County Steering Committee, and Community Action Partnership of Logan County Board.
