William B. Bates

Mr. Bates began practicing law at Woods & Bates, P.C. in 1978 upon his graduation, with honors, from Drake University School of Law. Mr. Bates has entered retired status as of January 1. 2018.

Born and raised in Lincoln, Illinois, Mr. Bates has served on countless local civic, charitable, and educational boards. Currently he serves as the President of the Woods Foundation Board and as the President of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Board.  In his free time he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
